Course Description: Quality science has a theoretical and practice foundation that will be the focus of this course. An introduction to key organizational functions that enhance clinical care and how they are constructed, measured and improved will be emphasized, along with tools that can be used to deconstruct and reconstruct both health services and academic processes. The use of valid and reliable metrics will be introduced, such that variation can be examined and minimized to produce effective and efficient client outcomes. The impact of designing care delivery systems that build capacity and the issues with sustaining capacity will be explored.
