Pre-requisites: Elementary Stats course during undergrad work.
Course Description: This is an intermediate-level statistics course for nursing graduate students. Topics covered include: correlation, prediction and regression, hypotheses testing, t-tests, ANOVA, and ANCOVA. Material is made relevant to nursing by use of nursing research studies as examples.
Method of Instruction: Online. UCD uses Blackboard as platform.

Other considerations: By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: Evaluate the analysis and conclusions of published studies to make informed decisions for practice;Critique the selection and application of statistical techniques used in published studies;Plan strategies for analyzing data congruent with the research question and the research design;Analyze data using a justifiable analytic technique based on underlying assumptions and design issues;Interpret the analysis and results in terms of statistical and clinical significance and the possibility of conclusion error;Determine the generalizability of research findings to particular practice situations;Translate research findings to a consumer-oriented format for distribution; and Collaborate effectively with others in analyzing, critiquing, and interpreting statistical techniques. Open to PhD and DNP students.
