Course Description: The course is designed to explore in-depth ways in which cultural health beliefs and practices, such as culture bound syndromes and folk providers, may impact the health and health care decisions of patients,. Students will develop culturally responsive methods for improved client/provider communication with respect to culturally appropriate assessment tools, and examine their application in the clinical and research settings.
