Course Description: Examines contextual contributors to development of vulnerable populations and public response. Implications for nursing research and practice are explored. Course Objectives: 1. Analyze ethical, political, socio-cultural and economic influences that have impacted the development of vulnerability among population groups. 2. Examine the impact of public policies on vulnerable and underserved populations. 3. Evaluate the usefulness and validity of a conceptual model of vulnerability. 4. Method of Instruction: Online platform is Blackboard; required to have high speed internet service, access to DVD computer drive and microsoft office 2001 or higher.
